Rose is one of Alchemist's concubines. She makes her first appearance in chapter 1, "3007."
Rose was pregnant with the last child Alchemist conceived before the city banished him and his family. She was murdered by the people of the village — who feared that the child would grow up to learn who his father was and seek revenge on their behalf.
The citizens of The City of Neoterra were willing to spare Rose's life. However, she was not willing to allow them to kill her only child. Rose chose to die alongside her child rather than watch them be taken from her.
Her death is one of the most morally stark moments in the story — a young woman who made an impossible choice, and kept her child from being used as a weapon against her by sacrificing everything she had.
The Last Choice: When offered her life in exchange for her child's, Rose refused. She chose to die with her child rather than live without them — a final act of defiance and love that the village could not take from her.
