About This Role
DBE Publishing is seeking a Literary Translator (Chinese — Simplified and/or Traditional) to translate DBEBooks titles for Chinese-speaking audiences. You will bring the voice, culture, and spirit of the DBE universe to readers in China, Taiwan, and the global Chinese diaspora.
- Translate DBEBooks manuscripts from English into Chinese (Simplified and/or Traditional)
- Preserve the author's voice, tone, and cultural nuance in translation
- Work with editors to ensure accuracy and literary quality
- Maintain consistency across a series or universe of books
- Deliver translations on agreed timelines
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Chinese and English
- Proven literary translation experience
- Understanding of both source and target cultures
- Ability to translate culturally specific references authentically
Nice to Have- Published translation credits
- Experience translating science fiction, urban fiction, or speculative literature
