About This Role
DBE Publishing is seeking Literary Translators fluent in African languages (including but not limited to Yoruba, Swahili, Igbo, Zulu, Amharic, Hausa, or Wolof) to bring DBEBooks titles to African readers in their native tongues.
- Translate DBEBooks manuscripts from English into one or more African languages
- Preserve cultural authenticity, voice, and literary quality
- Collaborate with editors and cultural consultants
- Help DBE reach African audiences in their native languages
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in one or more African languages and English
- Literary translation experience or strong writing background
- Cultural knowledge of the relevant region and language community
Nice to Have- Published translation work
- Experience with speculative fiction, Afrofuturism, or Pan-African literature
