About This Role
DBEStudios is seeking talented Character Designers to bring the characters of the Planet X Universe and other DBE properties to life visually. You will design original character appearances, costumes, expressions, and model sheets for use in animation, film, comics, and merchandise.
- Design original characters for the Planet X Universe and other DBE properties
- Create character sheets including expressions, poses, and costume details
- Develop character designs across multiple art styles as needed
- Collaborate with writers, directors, and the creative team
- Deliver final assets in formats suitable for animation, print, and digital use
Qualifications
- Strong portfolio of original character design work
- Proficiency in digital illustration (Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Clip Studio Paint)
- Understanding of character anatomy, proportion, and expression
- Ability to design characters that reflect diverse cultural backgrounds
Nice to Have- Experience designing for animation, comics, or games
- Familiarity with the Planet X Universe or Afrofuturist aesthetics
